Testimonials

"My experience at the Les Aspin Center was truly an enriching opportunity to engage with my interests in politics in the heart of Washington D.C. The educational combination of the hands-on internship on Capitol Hill and the lecture-oriented seminar about Congress provided a comprehensive view of the complex world of politics. The program allowed me to personally meet members of Congress and attend hearings with witnesses ranging from the Secretary of State to the CEO of a global cellular company. Thanks to the Les Aspin Center, I was given the opportunity to explore the Capitol complex and meet people I would never have had the chance to meet, including two current candidates for the office of the President of the United States. Additionally, living in the heart of the nation's capital allowed the students to immerse themselves in the cultural atmosphere of Washington D.C. This entire experience would not have been made possible without the help of The Pittsburgh Foundation and the J. Steele Gow scholarship. I wholeheartedly recommend this program to any student who has an interest in government and is willing to make the most out of a fantastic opportunity."
